There are two preferred airline options for transportation to the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute in Aguada, Puerto Rico:
1. Arrange air transportation to San Juan and fly from there to the Mayagüez airport via Cape Air. Let us know when you will be landing at Mayagüez, and the time of your arrival. We will meet you at the airport.
2. Fly from the US to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on Jet Blue or Continental. We can pick you up at Aguadilla or you can take a taxi from there to Aguada (approximately $35).
You can travel from San Juan to Aguada by renting a car, by public transportation or taxi (approximately $120).
If you want to rent a car, you may rent it in the San Juan airport and then return it at the Mayagüez airport. It takes about two and a half hours to travel between the two airports. We will pick you up from the Mayagüez airport if you give us advance notice. Avis is a possible choice for renting a car.
Driving Directions from San Juan to Aguada:
1. Take highway #22 to Bayamón, continue on #22 until
it ends in Arecibo (it will curve left and continue
into route #2 due west).
2. Continue on route #2 past Quebradillas and
Aguadilla, until you reach a stop light after a big
dip on road #2 where you will pass Walgreen's to your
right and a Wendy's to your left. Continue on R#2 pass
a bridge, over the river and plenty of open fields
(you have reached Aguada) until the next stop light
with an overpass for pedestrians. This is the
intersection to rout#417.
3. At the intersection of route #417 there is a sign
which indicates Aguada and Rincon to the right. Turn
right onto route #417.
4. Continue on route #417 until the stop light after
the Texaco station. Keep going straight past the
cemetery, into town, past the Catholic Church and the
plaza in the center of town (still r#417), there's a
dip on the road before it ends, then turn right. Take
the first and only left (at the intersection with the
Esso Gas Station, under construction).
5. You are then on route #115 (there may not be a road
sign), due west. Go all the way down past Burger King
and McDonald's, keep going for a few minutes, when you
reach the division on the road (which is under heavy
construction) beare eft past the small, narrow bridge.
Keep going past El Pico gas station on your left.
6. Continue on 115, you will pass El Tapatio Mexican
restaurant on your left. On the right, there is a sign
that reads: Cabañas Pino Mar and Ann Wigmore Natural
Health Institute. Keep driving 300 feet after
the Ann Wigmore Institute sign.
7. Continue till you see a sign on your right that
reads: Bel Air Muebles (this is Km 20). Turn right at
that sign onto a short road that leads to the beach.
The Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute is on your
left.
Public Transportation from San Juan to Aguada:
Call Linea Sultana,
Inc. at (787) 767 5205 or (787) 765 9377. You have to call in advance. The ride
takes from three to four hours. Tell them to drop you off at the Mayagüez
airport; we will pick you up from there. Call us in advance to
tell us you will be taking public transportation. Before you leave San
Juan you must call us so we know when to expect you (remember our office
hours are from 9am-5pm). When you arrive at the Mayagüez airport
you must call us so we can pick you up.
